Using Bad Behavior v2.1.15 and the option “Do not log HTTP requests”, Bad behavior is still writing many log entries to the wp_bad_behavior database table (which, since there’s no way to clean them from the admin panel, requires going into phpMyAdmin and truncating the table).

This issue has existed for the past (many) versions, I just never got around to reporting it – essentially, there doesn’t seem to be a way to *actually* disable logging completely.

  • Have you made any headway with this? I am currently working through a method of blocking IP’s that Bad Behavior is throwing up using an Elefante Script on the server. So far, not very much luck in that the IP’s are still registering in the BB interface on the WP site. I am curious to see any BB logs that are recording attempts to access any part of the site – much as Nmap or others might do – and for this I might need the Database table created by BB – I am assuming, that once perfected, the IP block will result in only fresh attempts – (the IP’s I am blocking are spammers/harvesters etc) – appearing on the BB admin interface. Also – if you have truncated the log suuccesfully, this is something I might benefit from once the IP blocks are working correctly – fresh swipe as it were – how did you go about that?

I’m not modifying/messing with/bug-fixing the plugin myself, just reporting the issue to the author(s) ??
