“Bad” content for posts to Mastodon

  • Hi Matthias,
    Using the latest version of this plugin 0.5.1 (had same problem yesterday with previous version) on my blog https://www.didiermary.fr (WP 5.1)
    Active options are:
    * Post-content: Content (default)
    * Activtity-Object-Type: WordPress Post-Format
    * Support Hashtags: yes
    Profile identifier: @[email protected] (only 4 toots in the TL… so far).

    I published 2 post (1st on Saturday, 2nd this morning) from the blog:
    Both have the following problem: the featured image is added twice
    Plus:
    * latest one (Pharoah Sanders): only shows the link (no content, no hashtag…) – could be that the 1st content available being a Gutenberg Youtube block generates a problem????
    * previous one (Neko): the content that appears is from the Draft version of the post, not the published one… E.g. the 2 hashtags were previously in the title as a reference for me, and don’t exist anymore… the date is OK, as I’m reviving an old post…

    I would recommend you to use “Note” in your case… Every other post-type might be rendered differently… Mastodon has only good support for “Note” atm… That might cause the issue with the missing content… Youtube videos and other embeds will be stripped before sending, because Mastodon doesn’t support it (at least, the last time I checked)…

    Your image was added twice, that is true: https://www.didiermary.fr/wp-json/activitypub/1.0/users/1/outbox

    Have you added it to the content first? I will try to implement a check to prevent duplicate images.
