• I created a post a couple of weeks ago regarding the issue I’m having with wordpress subscriber verification, and the one person who did respond never followed back up with me. I even stressed the urgency to try and figure out a solution because I am scheduled to launch in a week and can’t move forward until this issue is fixed. I’ve sent videos because you can’t attach pics as he requested, and still no response. I’m really surprised because usually someone would respond within 24 hours, and it’s been a week or so since his last response.

Can someone please assist with this matter.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I created a post a couple of weeks ago regarding the issue I’m having with wordpress subscriber verification, and the one person who did respond never followed back up with me.

Your last post here was something to do with the 3rd-party plugin “User Profile Builder” https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/user-verification-7/

That “one person” who responded is the author/owner of the plugin in question, and the one person most capable of helping you fix the issue with the plugin they built.

    Bad Customer Service

I’m really surprised because usually someone would respond within 24 hours, and it’s been a week or so since his last response.

If you purchased the paid version of this plugin, please go to the vendor’s own website for help, as support for commercial products can’t be provided here at all. https://www.cozmoslabs.com/support/

If you’re using the free version of the plugin and are surprised why someone wouldn’t respond in 24 hours (or at all), please understand that:

    1) WordPress is a 100% volunteer-built, volunteer-supported FREE software.
    2) Much of the world currently has a long holiday season, and many of these volunteers (possibly including the author of the plugin you need help with) may be completely off the intertubes and spending quality time with their families ??

Don’t get me wrong: there are a lot of amazing people here volunteering their time and expertise every day.

But for a free, volunteer-driven help desk, you get help when there is a volunteer available who knows how to fix your particular problem. Stressing urgency doesn’t do you much good if a volunteer who knows how to fix your particular issue isn’t available.

If you need immediate help due to a looming business deadline, I’ll recommend you hire someone to fix your site immediately rather than depending on free volunteer help during a long holiday season. https://jobs.wordpress.net/

    Good luck!

    Hi George,

it’s not profile builder, it’s WordPress.

In that case, I don’t know which of your posts this relate to. Can you point me to where you posted this, please?

Everything I said about volunteers and the holidays applies though: if you have an important business deadline and need immediate support, hire someone to assist you on-one-one.

    Standing by.

    George,

First, I want to thank you for being responsive.

The initial thread I posted was titled User Verification. Prior to the last wordpress update, after the registration and email confirmation the account profile status would show verified and my test accounts could then log in. Now, after validation it shows not verified and I have to manually confirm the account. I’ve created videos to show my process and messages received.

@wbcilearn Let us be perfectly clear here. You’re not a customer. WordPress is free software. You did not pay us any money at all. So basically, keep in mind that asking for customer service, when you are not a customer, actually doesn’t make any sense.

This is an entirely volunteer forum, populated entirely by individuals, helping others out because they want to do so. It is not “customer service”. So please, check any kind of attitude at the door.

Now you did not post any thread titled “User Verification”. We have the history. We can see what you posted. You can see it too, right here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/users/wbcilearn/topics/

So please explain your problem in detail, and maybe we can help with that. For example, what is adding that verified column in your users page? That is not WordPress.

    Samuel,

First, there’s no attitude. Secondly, I assume you’re not a business person, because then you’d know customer service does not mean a service for paying customers. Customer service is when anyone, volunteers or are being paid offers assistance to another. It’s what a professional organization provides rather non-profit or profit.

Regarding my issue. Prior to WordPress last update, I did not have to manually verify a subscriber. There was even an option that asked if I wanted manually approve a subscriber, which I did not select. Now, that feature is no longer under the users settings, so now after someone registers and confirms their account they are not automatically approved.
