• Hello,

I have wierd “problem”. I’ve set up wordpress to use static page as frontpage, and then created new Page just to have a placeholder for blog.
    Just as written here:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

The problem is, that page created as “Blog” is displaying in search results if there is some content in it (even if it’s ignored). There should be some mechanism to prevent such thing. Maybe when I leave it blank it wont display anything, but something it’s nice to write in such page a text like “Do not delete this page – it’s a placeholder for blog” just to inform “new people”. Such note may be helpful in larger team.

  • What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

Its custom – made it myself. But there is no custom loop for search results neither in functions.php or in search.php template file.

Perhaps you need to review Theme Development?

    Nope – it’s not a theme …
Now I know 100%. Clean WP 3.7.1 Install with default Twenty Thirteen theme. I just made two static pages – one was set for front page, and second for blog.
When I write some content on “Blog” page – it’s searchable.
It’s just like wordpress handle it …

I just excluded ID of this page from search results manualy.

Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.
