• The W3TC plugin is great and I use(d) it in many WordPress installations, but since WP 3.8.1 (and W3TC 0.9.3) the performance is very bad in comparison with WP Super Cache or no cache at all.
Specifically the page generation times are much lower, 3-6 secs with W3TC and <1 secs with WP Super Cache.

Is this a known issue with the latest WP version? I’ve read comments about underpowered servers, that is definitely not the case here (have my own VPS with great specs).

I’ve been able to narrow it down to the object cache, without it the page generation time is 3-5 seconds faster!? Disabled it now, but am interested how this is possible?
