• I was going to update one of our webpages which has agenda and minutes. This has always been viewable up until about 1 week ago. I can edit the back end of the page but when trying to view it, the message “Bad Request. Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand” comes up for each fiscal year page. The only thing different that I can notice is that the permalink has changed and I cannot edit the part that changed on its own. Specifically, this was added into the link /%year_created%/ whereas it used to be direct. Even if I enter the new permalink into the URL bar, I get the same error message on all devices, and from different on and off-site locations.

I cannot find any documentation that suggests that %year_created% is a permalink token. I suggest you go to settings=>permalinks and remove that.

This worked! Thank you so much. I wouldn’t have known to do that. Thanks!

You can’t just make up permalink tokens ??

I wouldn’t even know how to try!! Do you think there is a security risk since this happened without me doing it?

somebody did it. Who else has admin access to your site?

2 other staff who specifically only edit 1 section of our site related to restaurant inspections. Neither have created posts, pages, etc and neither know how to edit to even customize the end of the link let alone go into the menu you showed me. The 3rd, our website developer and host, has not logged in since 2018 when we created the site.

It would be a very strange hack, if indeed it were a hack. But to be safe, install the WordFence plugin and scan your site.
