In fact banning through .htaccess is one of the most efficient way as it stops the user from even from loading the page

I know, but an extra period, space, etc. and your site is broken. Years ago my .htaccess list was pages in length. Now, being disabled (no memory) I’m just afraid to try to keep them updated.
