You are looking for a fast loading website or well optimized website?

If you want to score high on Google PageSpeed Insights test then just combine and minify everything or push things even further by removing things that you are not using at all. Maybe you are not using Modernizer, so remove it, maybe you can live without font awesome, so get rid of it as well.
Will this affect your website performance? No it won’t but you will score high on website performance tests.

If you are looking to actually make your website load fast then use https://tools.pingdom.com/ for testing that actually check how fast your website loads instead of checking how good homework you have done by removing things that you don’t use. People doesn’t like this kind of tests because you can’t achieve fast load speed using a cheap shared hosting, with poor DNS setup and no CDN and server side caching which is not possible for most share hostings.

You can check performance for Sparkling theme demo: https://colorlib.com/sparkling/
It is fast but it will score low on Google Page Insights, because that doesn’t matter to me as I am interested in performance and not to win in beauty contest ??

Let me know if you are interested in performance and I will give you some details about server that we are using for Sparkling demo.

Maybe i’m interested with your setup details.
So far, my site work well with your theme..

    Sorry for late response.

I am using VPS from DigitalOcean with setume like this:

    – Nginx
    – PHP 5.6 with HHVM for faster execution times.
    – FastCGI cache.
    – CDN by MaxCDN.
    – Gzip enabled

If you are not having a lot of traffic you can live without CDN.
