Bad viewing in responsive mode

Hey. The theme looks really bad when viewed on an iPhone and other small devices. The yellow date tab is too big and takes up a good third of the page. When a featured image is used the text displays letter by letter, one under the other.

As another quick thing: Also in responsive viewing, the search bar covers over most of the menu button. Categories by Jetpack expands beyond the box as well, probably due to the content inside of the dropdown.

Can there be an update/fix for these?
