Badge only displayed on first product image, on product page

For a free plugin, this is actually pretty decent.
The only issue I’m having is that the badge only displays on the first image on the product page. If I scroll through the image gallery, the badge transitions out with the first image.

However, the php snippet didn’t seem to work for me. Is there another fix?

Also, is there a way through snippets or custom css (I haven’t found it yet) to move the badge slightly outside of the image box? Like margin: -5px or something?
