• Hi all,
As you probably tell Im a virgin to the world of wordpress and have yet to get my cherry popped lol

Ive currently handcoded my own portfolio site (offline @ the mo) in XHTML/CSS, but Im wanting to create my Blog page in wordpress but keep it consistent with the rest of my site, in terms of appearence.
Unfortunatley Im at a loss where to begin, firstly with just reading wordpress documentation as there is quite abit and Im not really sure where to look for the relevant information.
Im basically trying to recreate/mimic the header and footer from my portfolio site in the Blog page, and having the content as the blog itself.

Any help or a shove in the right direction will be greatly appreciative.

    Hi again Esmi,

Ive just looked over the article you have suggested, but from my understanding of it, its suggesting that my site has been coded with PHP from the section that states:

    “Grab the header

In order to transform regular PHP pages into ones that utilize WordPress, you need to add either of the following code snippets to the start of each page.”

I dont have any PHP in my site nor do I have any knowledge with PHP unfortunately. Its literally been coded in XHTML and css. Can you possibly suggest a different article if one exists ?

    thanks once again

    Ben

You can’t integrate WP into a plain .html page. Your only other option is to replicate your main site’s layout in your WP theme.
