Bait and switch

  • After months of using this plugin with no issues, they’ve suddenly moved one of its core features (“Support for adding CAPTCHA on forms by third party plugins”) behind a paywall, resulting in a massive flood of spam to our site without warning and a bunch of panicked emails from our clients asking what happened.

    While we understand your frustration, the features that are now available in the premium edition have always been a premium feature. This is supported by all of the plugin’s literature and documentation. A bug ‘leaked’ those features to the free edition and the previous plugin owner never addressed it. We have now rectified the issue.

    Also, we have highlighted this change on all the plugin’s documentation, including the release notes and the change log (and clearly highlighting them as breaking changes), so users can read about the change before upgrading.
