We are hosting files on Amazon S3 with Download Monitor providing the links to the downloads. We are not currently using “Redirect to File”. I’m curious about bandwidth usage. When a client downloads a file does the file travel back to our web host server and then travel to the client? If we used “Redirect to File” I assume the file would travel from Amazon S3 directly to the client, correct?

  • Hey @shacomm,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

When the “Redirect to File” option is set, the download is done directly from the source which in your case is Amazon S3. So no bandwidth from your server is used.

I hope that answers your query. Let us know if you have any further questions.
