Bandwidth use suddly increased after updated to WordPress 3.5 and 3.5.1

  • Hello,

    I have wordpress site,

    it was running fine,

    last whole year’s bandwidth usage was 11.66GB

    after having updated to wordpress 3.5 the in jan-2013 the bandwidth usage for jan-2013 is 38.76 GB, so i have again updated wordpress to wordpress 3.5.1 but the still the bandwidth issue is there.

    can anyone please guide me for this issue.

    just to add, i have updated my 4 sites and all have this issue after wordpress update

    You should contact the hosting company and ask them what is causing the spike in bandwidth.
    Are all the 4 sites hosted on the same server .

    okey, one more thing to add, i was reviewing awstats and in “Links from an external Page” section i can see may spam links, majorly from .ru sites. I am not clear what goes wrong, but have checked this section for every month, this spam links start coming only after wordpress update
