• So I’ve recently become an admin of a site (www.wsafc.net.au)

We had an issue last week where people on wifi couldn’t join the site. So we got rid of all the plug ins and that fixed it all.

On Saturday I tried to log in to add some photos got my password wrong as I forgot it needed fancy characters. Then after that it started saying server took too long to respond. Server has been timed out etc. So naturally I thought the same error was happening as before.

However I have now found out it’s only for my wifi. Obviously means there is an issue on my end but every other site doesn’t do it. So i’m wondering if i’ve been banned as i’ve tried multiple devices connected to my wifi and it says the same error. Connection has timed out, server isn’t responding etc. As soon as I hop off the wifi for example use my phone’s internet I can get onto the site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has made me become extremely frustrated as I do most of the content on the site and news stories etc.

  • Are you using a security plug-in or the log-in blocker? Maybe your IP adres is blocked out or your wi-fi port isn’t support at the website.

Please have a look at your browser and delete your history and cache of your browser. Somethimes this will resolve the problem.

I would try speaking to your host’s tech support team, could be a firewall thing.

It will not be a “wifi” thing though – that is a red herring trust me. No plugin/firewall/software in the world should be able to detect whether you are connected using wifi or not.
