    Hi @cookieyesteam,

I received an email from [email protected] saying:

    “Hi there,

We have identified an error in your Google Consent Mode implementation on your website. This can negatively impact measurements in your Google Ads and Google Analytics.-?

Error: Default consent not set- -

This error occurs when (i) the default consent state is not defined or properly configured during the setup of the CookieYes CMP Tag in GTM. (ii) Or if you’ve used the custom script method, but not added the script correctly.”

So I went to set up Google tag Manager (didn’t have it previously and had never heard of it). I followed the instructions but my cookies banner disappeared, even though it appears as “active”.

Moreover, some of the images on my website are not loading now.

I have tried deactivating and even deleting the CookieYes plugin and cleaning the cache. Please advise with easy steps, as I’m not very experienced.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @adoraip,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

You have implemented Google Consent Mode using the CookieYes CMP tag in GTM. This method won’t work with the CookieYes plugin. So please remove the CookieYes CMP tag from GTM and follow this documentation to implement GCM while using the plugin.

    Thank you so much, @cookieyesteam.

I followed the steps and the banner appears as it should now. Could you please check if I’ve done it correctly?

    Many thanks again.

    Hi @adoraip,

Could you please confirm whether you have followed all the steps in this documentation to integrate GCM? We couldn’t find the custom script added to your site.
