Really useful plugin wich helps already to optimize the workflow, but I have a bug (at least for me) and a requests.

Bug: I can dismiss the banner “Welcome to Toolbar Extras…” as often I want and refresh the page and clean the cache, the banner does reappear again and again (e.g. if I save). Same for the “Thank You for Installing and Activating the Toolbar Extras Plugin!” banner on the plugins page.
Is this only for me or a bug? Can someone check this with current version?

Request: I generally don’t like it when hovering over the menu items, there always appears the same text as a popup.
Many other menu items just have no title-attribute and thus no hover-tooltip, which is in my eyes much more preferable.

    Best regards

Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it! ??

    1)
For the Link Attributes/ Tooltips there is already a setting to disable them, actually since v1.2.0
Just under WordPress Settings > Toolbar Extras in the “General Settings” tab there is a section “Links Behavior” there you can disable it.

    2)
As for the “banners” – these are admin notices and they should disappear normally. I use a proven library for that. However, in one Multisite install I had the same issue before – currently I am unable to replicate the issue myself, don’t know the exact reason what leads to it.

    Are you on Multisite?
If yes, is the plugin activated network-wide or not?

Can you give me a list of your active plugins on the site? It is also very likely a plugin conflict.

I will also contact the developer of this library if we can do something about it.

In the meantime you can use this little snippet as a workaround – it will completely remove these 2 admin notices:
    https://gist.github.com/deckerweb/9113a2d6016fb018b3afba0715a635bb

Paste the snippet into your functions.php, into a functionality plugin or a snippets plugin like the awesome “Code Snippets” (recommended way!).

(Note: Do NOT include the opening php tag!)

    Hope that helps ??

For 1) -> Perfect, so much better now ??
For 2) I do not use Multisite. I have 26 plugins active. I do not know if it helps when I post a list of them, but I send it to you via email.

    And thanks for fast reply.

Just for notice: It was the SiteGround Memcached drop-in, placed by the “SG Optimizer” plugin in combination with SiteGround hosting. Deactivated the Memcached, dismissed the banner and after reactivating Memcached the banner is finally gone. But after this is the second time Memcached makes a problem, I leave it deactivated for now.

The issue is now also resolved on behalf of the developers of the library: they changed the saving logic in their newest version – and this will then also be used in Toolbar Extras from v1.4.0 on. (Currently in dev + testing).

Since the issue seems already solved for you I solve this topic here as well.

Thanks again and have a great day ??
