banning ip ?

  • How do we ban someone from visiting….?
    Ive been visited by some farmastuff website coming all the way from corrupted moscow who is posting ads using the comments option.
    So i know about the blacklist function but thats not it i guess…..
    So how do we ban someone from even visiting the site ?

    order allow,deny
    deny from 123.123.123.123
    deny from 456.456.*.*
    allow from all
    </Limit>
    This syntax works for me in the .htaccess at my domain root.
    Fisrt line blocks a specific IP, second line blocks everything whose IP starts with 456.456
