Banning WordPress Posters

  • Hi,

    I have a wordpress blog up and running and recently there are some regular commenters on my blog who leave really abusive comments on the articles that get posted. One of the members has even had to leave the blog because of the abuse that person is getting. I have got the members names who are leaving the abusive comments and i just wondered weather there was anyway i could ban these people from posting on my blog permanently?

  • there is a comment blacklist in settings->discussion

    you can start by deleting them as users
    dashboard -> Users

    at
    dashboard – >Settings -> Discussion
    look at options under
    Comment Moderation
    if you have it where commenter must fill in name and email, you can put either or both in the box, etc.

    Hi,

    Is there anyway i can ban there IP address as well? I believe they could easily just leave a comment again with a new email address and name? I will first try deleting them as users as this will help too:-)
