    Good evening,

    I have set up ticket sales for an upcoming show. I notice that Barcodes / QR Codes are added to tickets/confirmation emails.

    Would someone be able to advise on the practicalities of how this can be used when audience members arrive? Is there a specific app that should be used?

  • Hi dave,

    Under stageshow -> tools there is a Validate Sale option which does an online Validation and there is also an Offline Validator both of which can be used to validate sales.

    If you are using only one device to validate sales and have done ALL sales prior to event day you could use the offline validator.This downloads all the valid sales and stores them on a browser page. When you enter a transaction ID or Scan a barcode or QR which is then entered to the textbox and return is pressed it is checked against the stored data on the page and valid tickets are shown.

    If however you are using more than one device or are still selling tickets on the door the online validator on the tools page might be your best bet. You scan a transaction and it checks the database for the sale. If valid displays in green, if it has already been used it will display in orange to say it has already been verified and the date and time that it was verified at.
