Did you try to go to the widget and look at the settings whether they have changed by accident with the update.

I think I built in some new requested features. Try to update the widget or drag a new one into the widget area and do a setup for that.

Keep me informed on whether or not this helped.

    Cheers

I have been checking the settings and all is ok,

As you have recommended, I removed the older widget and creted new one. the same issues still exists.

Very weird. What kind of images do you have in your posts? Are they coming from your blog? Like having the same root url as the wp installation and being in the download folder?

Or are they external images? That could be a problem sometimes.

Do you have WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG enabled? Checking the log can sometimes help to see what’s going on.

Yes the images are uploaded on the same domain of wordpress insatllation, and are added on featured post.

The images are no external lnks.

Got no error on the WP_DEBUG_LOG file.

I have also used another plugin “Recent Posts Widget With Thumbnails”, it is also using the same base64 encoded src for the same image, but that image is visible.
