    Hi,

Thanks for this plugin which seems to offer what I’m looking for, except that I have a slight problem.

I find the Base directory paths somewhat confusing because I cannot remove the default path that is displayed there, which in my case shows up as www/users/matzit/, the last part presumably derived from my site URL which is https://www.matzitek.com. I added testfiles after matzit/ and created the matzit and testfiles directories under the root directory (same as WP install directory) where I thought they should go.

Then I created a Test Page with the shortcode [fileaway debug="on"] but this shows me that the shortcode is pointing to usr/www/users/matzit/testfiles.

Now this is even more confusing because being a Linux user I recognize that path as a possible path on my computer, but on the server where my site is hosted there is no such path.

    Where am I going wrong?

    Thanks.

I have no idea the details of your server setup. File Away is rooted in your server root directory. That wont change. Try removing debug from your shortcode and adding makedir=true and directories=true to your shortcode.

Hi Tom, thanks for the response.

File Away is there, in wp-content/plugins/file-away.

I tried what you suggested, but it doesn’t help. If I understand the makedir attribute correctly, it should create the directory that I specify, not so? My Base Directory 1 line now looks like this: www/users/matzit/wp-content/uploads/demo. But I don’t see it anywhere in the WP directory structure using either FileZilla or my server’s control panel. So where is the directory/folder?

Also, why can’t the ‘www/users/matzit/’ part be changed to an actual directory in the installation directory, e.g. wp-content/uploads/demo? It seems to me that this is where the problem lies.

Could it perhaps be a permissions problem?

    OK, please ignore previous post.

It turns out that I had to actually create the demo folder on the server first.

On the Basic Config tab, put your cursor in the text field AFTER www/users/matzit/ then type the rest of the path.
