• This popup maker is really good. With the free version you get basic pop-ups and the ability to put them on any page including your buddy press page! If you want to upload a photo you’ll have to purchase the pro-version however. I’m new to the web developing world so I don’t have a lot of experience or money to buy expensive plug-ins. This popup maker was perfect for me!

@notright – Thanks for the honest & awesome feedback. That said you can insert images into the popups, but you are correct we do have some features such as using background images in the theme editor that we hold back.

That said I completely understand where you are coming from, 2.5 years ago when I quit taking clients and went full time with Popup Maker (as a brand new plugin) there was no money coming in to buy plugins etc and I have always had the I can do it myself attitude. That is how you learn very quickly so keep at it, but I found about a year into it that the more money I spent on plugins, the easier my life became in terms of productivity. This is hard when you are not making a lot or charging a lot as you build up. But with each plugin I added, I did less busy work making custom stuff, and more time building the business. It is a fine line for sure, but I have no doubt your on the right track. This is in know way an effort to persuade you to purchase. Just food for thought.

That may be true but right now I have more time than money. My site is [link removed] is new about 2 months old and already I have nearly 4000 users but no revenue still. Until I see revenue to make sure this business is actually meeting a market need that people are willing to pay for I’m sticking to freeware all the way.

I appreciate your response though! You seem to be doing well and I congratulate you on that.

@notright – Congrats, that is pretty amazing growth. Once you find the right way to monetize you will be on your way as well. And as I stated before, each of us has to decide when the balance shifts between doing it ourselves and saving time. Sounds like you are not there yet, but for me time is the one resource I am short on haha.

    Take care.
