Basic Child Theme for WP 4.3.x Standards for ComicPress?

I see the Blank Child theme for ComicPress 4.0+ on the main site.

I tried creating one and while I thought I had it working, there are all sorts of issues happening so I wanted to confirm that it was a Child Theme situation versus a WP MultiSite Enabled 4.3.1 issue.Have ComicPress 4.3 theme and ComicEasel 1.9.8 plugin installed.
