I know how to add pages to my blog and how to add content to those pages. But how can I have an individual blog for each of those pages – is that possible?

If I post something about Fords, for example, and receive responses, and then I post a new topic about houses, and receive responses, how can I organize those topics – on the pages I create? I don’t have a basic conceptual understanding yet.

    No.

Do not mix Pages and posts. They have nothing to do with each other.
Pages are NOT meant to display posts. Period.
Pages are for static content, like: About, Contact etc.

You organize your content in post categories. And you receive “responses” as comments – not as posts.
You can have a category named “Ford” and in it zillion posts made by you, e.g. one for every model. Visitors can comments on every post separately.
    That’s how blogs work.

Thanks. I think I’m slowly getting it now. So if I I have a website (I do, it’s https://www.springvalleyhoa.org), I could recreate each html page as a (php?)”page” in my blog. Then if I have categories that correspond to the pages, readers could view the page and add their comments, right? At least it sounds practical to me.

    Not really.
Your html pages will stay what they are. You can recreate only their content (e.g. copy/paste into a WP Page or post).
Obviously, you did NOT click on the link I posted above about the WordPress Pages – otherwise you wouldn’t say that Pages have categories. No, they don’t. Only posts have categories.
    You are still in darkness.
Why don’t you install WP in a subfolder on your site and experiment a bit to get more familiar with it. Theoretical talks don’t get anywhere…

Sorry, I didn’t notice the first link to Pages. Be that as it may, I am at that point where I don’t know if the source of problems I’m having is at Yahoo and the way WP works on that host, or with WP, or with the themes others have provided, or with me.

I’m probably going to go to another host anyway and that will eliminate the one variable I cannot control. Then I can fiddle around with the blog all I want and when I’m satisfied, I can put it up “live” and dump Yahoo.
