basic editing has vanished as an option

How do I get it back? I have gone through the control panel 50 times. HELP! It just disappeared. I installed wordpress again on another domain name it is there, but not on the first web site. It is annoying me beyond belief. I am creating posts in dreamweaver and copying and pasting into wordpress. Please help. Thanks
