Basic front page slider

I am interested in adding a simple clickable image slider to my blogs home page (only).
Kinda like these:

https://theletteredcottage.net/
https://www.perfectlyimperfectblog.com/

I would like to be able to add custom images and link them to custom URL’s. It appears two of the sliders I have linked to above are working in this way (I think).

Can someone advise if there are good plugins for this? Or how I would go about creating it?

I have had a look at some plugins though couldn’t see anything appropriate.
