Looking to not only translate the site into the Georgian language but have it localized internally into Georgian. Years ago I had seen localization for languages used, but now I can’t quite make out if it is achieved via a plugin or exactly how.
    Any basic tips?

    I found this https://ka.www.ads-software.com/download/#download-install
Which may be what I’m looking for!

WordPress has localized versions in many languages.

You can download and install WordPress in your preferred language. But even if you download the default (en_US) version, you can still choose your preferred language during installation.

And if you have an existing site in English, you can easily switch to a localized version from the dashboard by going to SETTINGS => GENERAL => Site Language. Individual users can also have WordPress in their own language (the language switcher is in the user’s profile settings).

As for translating the site’s content, you pretty much need a plugin to do that, and there are quite a few out there: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/translate/
