    Hello!

I recently found out my website was quite slow, so I tried to find the causes of this issue.

It seems that the Basic PayPal option, even when it’s disabled, makes a lot of requests, slowing down my website.

Can I disable it so my website’s speed becomes better?

Or even better, can I somehow make it faster, but still have the PayPal option on?

    Cheers

  • Hi @binisgiannis,

Could you please share how you’re integrating the “Basic PayPal” option?

Are you referring to the core WooCommerce PayPal Standard? if that’s indeed the case, I really can’t imagine PayPal Standard slowing down your website – most especially when it’s deactivated. ??

I suspect there’s more at play here. Could you please confirm if you’ve tried performing a conflict test? If you haven’t, I highly recommend following these steps to perform a conflict test: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

If you can’t do this on your live site, I’d recommend creating a staging site. If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging

Let us know what you find so we can help further.

    Hello @binisgiannis.

It’s been a while since you replied back and you might have already found a solution. However, I have checked your screenshot but it doesn’t tell which plugin is making the requests. It can be any 3rd-party plugin. Could you please tell us which PayPal plugin are you using?

It will be great if you could also share your current System Status Report. You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button. Then paste it here in a comment.

    Thanks!
