Basic site functionality questions – help required

  • Hi there, i just started using this theme and so far I’m enjoying it. There are a couple of issues I would really appreciate some help with for it to be fully functional. I’m not a coder or anything, I just want to show off a few historical pictures.

    1, I finally figured out how to get images on the front page, however they now show up in the recent post widget part of the blog page, I feel its useful to have a list of recent posts as it encourages people to look at other posts but I don’t want the image posts showing up, its untidy. They don’t show up on the home page, just the blog page.

    2, When you click on the blog page part of the menu you get the featured image showing up. How do I stop this, where a post may only have one image I don’t want it showing up twice and in different sizes. I need the featured image for it to show on the front page.

    3, Is it possible to add a back button next to the menu button?

    4, How do I get the images on the front page to open with my lightbox plug in foobox? the images on other sections of the site seem to open with it fine. Or how do I stop them opening at all?

    Thanks for any help you can offer. It would be nice to get a nice clean and strong version of this up and running.

    Ignore number 3, I’ve gone through and added buttons to each opf the pages.

    I have the same question as number 1 in this thread. (I don’t want the image posts in the blog section, neither in the ones showing up in the end of a blog post – as the one before and the one after). Anyone can help?

    I had to get rid of images from the front page. I accept i’m not a coder or a wordpress whizz but it seems a rather clunky way of doing things to have to make a featured image post for each picture and have the front page then round them up.

    No solution for point 1 ? Also I would like to have pictures on the home page, but that will not be visible in the blog.
