I recently took over support for our website and found that none of the NextGEN Gallery pages/posts were working. They all show the error message “[Not a valid template]”. This has probably been neglected for a while so there’s no telling when this stopped working.

I created the test page shown above from scratch. It includes all 4 display formats available in the free version we have (Basic Thumbnails, Basic Slideshow, Basic ImageBrowser and Basic TagCloud). As you can see, only the Basic Thumbnails format has a problem. Here is the failing code generated for this in this page:
    [ngg src=”galleries” ids=”11″ display=”basic_thumbnail” thumbnail_crop=”0″]

In addition, we get the same error message when clicking on the [SHOW THUMBNAILS] link on the Basic Slideshow format.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @jcornell,

Let’s access “Gallery -> Gallery Settings -> Basic Thumbnails Grid” and check to make sure that you haven’t selected any template for “Legacy (Old) Templates” then “Save Options” and verify your gallery test page again to see if that will change anything.

I removed the value from Legacy (Old) Templates and that did not help. I then also tried changing Select Value from Legacy to default-view.php, and that did not help either. In case you need to know, all the Basic Thumbnails settings are now:
    Override thumbnail settings = No
    Images per page = 20
Number of columns to display = 0
    Enable AJAX pagination = No
    Add Hidden Images = No
    Use imagebrowser effect = No
    Show slideshow link = Yes
Slideshow link text = [Show slideshow]
    Select View = default-view.php
Legacy (Old) Templates = null (No template selected)

Please ignore my last response. I wasn’t looking at the right page. It is working now.
