Basic Upload Path Question

  • I can’t find the answer to this anywhere. What is the difference between these three (not asking the difference between paths and URL’s…just what each of these does in the system):

    – Upload Path
    – Upload Url Path
    – File Upload Url

    Upload URL and file upload path URL are the same, IIRC. They’re the URL your file should be at.

    Upload path is the path on your file system.

    So, the question begs…if they are the same, why do you need both? The same goes for the Upload path. 99% of the time it would be the directory path from the URL path. The other 1% of the time it could be configured in wpconfig…

    The department of redundancies. Actually, to make sure older versions of WPMU remain compatible with the changes.

    The upload path can be moved, so thats why it’s NOT in the wp-config ??
