Battle of the Bands site

    I’m trying to build a ‘battle of the bands’ site for a friend where people can vote on roughly 250 different bands. Basically, someone recommended Drupal 7 as a solution so I installed and it’s a nightmare. I really don’t understand how it can survive with such a steep learning curve. It’s got it’s own terms and ways of doing things that couldn’t be less intuitive. It’s like trying to learn Greek!

    Anyways, WordPress is a dream so I was wondering if the system could be built with it, and if anyone has any recommendation? Any help with these questions is very much appreciated, too!

    • Can I allow bands to register? (e.g. create a post?)
    • Is there an extension that will allow people to vote? I don’t want people to rate the band; just to be able to click vote.
    • Is there a way to display the band rankings/charts based on votes?

    I hope these aren’t too complicated.
