bbPress conflict?

It seems there’s a conflict with Maintenance Mode and bbPress – when Maintenance mode is activated, all Admin options for bbPress disappear.
All the bbPress forums still appear in the frontend and function OK, but all trace of bbPress in the backend is wiped out when Maintenance Mode is active.
