When using BBQ Firewall and Fluent Forms, it doesn’t seem like the integrations within Fluent Forms work normally.

Is there a way for BBQ firewall to bypass a certain plugin?

I contacted the Fluent Forms support, and they said that 7G, whether server side or via BBQ, is blocking Fluent Forms REST API. Is there a way to bypass everything withing Fluent Forms?

    best,

    Glad to help:

“Is there a way for BBQ firewall to bypass a certain plugin?”

Yep, just need to know the URL(s) that need to be allowed (not blocked). Then can use the free customize addon to remove the patterns from the firewall. So let me know which URL(s) are getting blocked, and I’ll help you set up the customize addon asap.

Here’s what the FLUENT team said to me

You can share the URL with them that is /*fluent* that they need to exclude. Additionally, you can share the plugin directory in WordPress as well:

    Here is Fluent Form’s slug:

    /wp-content/plugins/fluentform/
    /wp-content/plugins/fluentformpro/

I hope they are going to help you out. Please let me know if you have any other queries.

    Can we test like this?

Yeah none of those strings/patterns are blocked by BBQ. So you should be good to go out of the box with zero modifications. Let me know if I can provide any further information, glad to help anytime.

it has to be something else then because OOTB is conflicting

the plugin that is conflicting with, and any 7G firewall, server or plugin wise, conflicts with it.

essentially, none of the REST API integrations work and they stay as pending. Any ideas on what it could be?

    just fyi,

i had 7g running server side on Runcloud, and that’s also blocking, so it’s some sort of rule that’s conflicting with it.

with the server sife config, I can try to get the query that’s blocking Fluent Forms. Would that help?

It sounds like you’ve got multiple plugins and firewalls in place, so you’ll need to narrow it down to something specific to BBQ in order for me to be able to do anything. Note also that BBQ rules are similar but ultimately different than what’s provided via 7G/8G Firewall.

    (@leolaurettimusic)

Jeff, I don’t have multiple in place, in fact at the moment I have 0 firewalls in place, but I’m testing, as any ‘debugger’ would do rather it’s a server issue, an application issue, a plugin issue.

Since it’s happening with both BBQ and with 7G, when working alone and independently, I guess it’s some sort of native configuration from 7G since when I turn it off, everything works fine.

And, by offering you to get which query was being tagged on my server, I just tried to be helpful to help us narrow down and find the solution.

Okay so basically if you can provide steps to repeat the issue on default WordPress, it will enable me to take a look and see if anything can be done. Otherwise, if you know any URLs that are getting false-positive blocked, that also would enable me to investigate asap.

Also note that this forum is for the free version of BBQ only. For any questions/help with 7G/8G Firewall, please use the contact form at Perishable Press, thank you.

    Here we go:
    1. Start wordpress
    2. Install Fluent Forms & Fluent Forms Pro (I’m contacting Fluent Forms to provide a license)
    3. create any form with a google sheet integration
    4. install bbq pro
    5. submit a form
    6. Wait and check if the integration form has worked. If it doesn’t work, then it’s blocking there

We can maybe do a quick zoom call, then I can do the test with you

Hi @leolaurettimusic, thanks will look into it. In the meantime, it looks like the steps mention BBQ Pro, correct? If so, we’ll have to continue this via email (the WP forums are restricted to free versions of plugins). You can reach us anytime via the contact form at Plugin Planet. Hit me up there and we’ll continue with troubleshooting BBQ Pro. May be possible to sort it out without need of any Fluent pro license. Thanks again and let me know how I can help.

    My mistake. BBQ FREE, non-pro!

Lol okay no problem. The contact form link will be useful to send the pro license for your other plugin. Cheers!
