Basically, it does a good job. But there is a catch you should be aware of. There is paid PRO version of this plugin. And some of you may one day need the Pro version for some features. And then the nightmare starts. The plugin’s creators claim that you can migrate your forms from the free version to the paid version.

But what they not tell you is that your forms will look very different in the pro version and you will have a lof of work to do to make your forms in the Pro Version the same as they looked in the free version. I have about 20 forms on my site which I now need to all update to look properly. Proly 3,4 hours work that I did not anticipate.

I just wanted you to know about this.

Other than this the plugin works well and if you never need to upgrade to the Pro Version you should be fine.

Thanks for the review, but I would like to point out that this page is for the free version not the Pro. I am sorry to hear about your frustration with the Pro, but I see that our support team is working with you to iron out your issues. Maybe we can change your mind about the one star.

    Matthew,

Thanks for following up on this. Much appreciated. My post / critique here is to make users of this plugin aware that an upgrade to the Pro Version is not as smooth as it could/should be.

Matthew, we both know how the business works. You give a free version, leave out a few nice features and hope that ppl upgrade to the paid version. That is totally OK.

I am sure that I am not the only one who has used the free version and then one day decided that I need all the features and I am happy to pay for the Pro Version.

What I am not happy about is the experience that I had with this upgrade. I had about 15 – 20 forms on my site which I made with the free version.

And after upgrading to the Pro Version it took me around 3,4,5 hours of work and testing and adjusting so that the forms which were created with the free version worked as desired in the Pro Version of the Plugin.

And that is my critique. I did several similar upgrades from free version plugins or apps to the paid Pro Version and usually I do not need to do any ‘fixing’, testing, adjusting, etc…

Whereas with VFB to VFB Pro I had those experience. Nothing earth-shattering I admit, but 3,4,5 hours of work that I did not anticipate and which I could spend for doing something else.

So for others reading this: Guys I fully endorse both the free as well as Pro version. But I feel that the developers of this plugin should have made the migration process from the free version to the Pro version a more smooth process. Because I am sure there are quite a few folks who will do as me. Use free version first and if all good upgrade to Pro.

Other than that I love working with both the free as well as the Pro version.

Thank you Matthew, once again for following up and for creating this plugin.

    Sincerely – Dominik

I have now rated you again and gave you 4 stars – I hope this is a compromise you can live with.
