• The plug-in didn’t work after I bought it, but the author was nice enough to email me a version. I was having trouble updating the dated version he emailed me so I asked for the most recent pro version, which he then emailed me. You have to copy and paste a file to tell the regular version to be pro. I did that. Still, when I click ‘settings’ under Alphabetic Pagination on the plug-in page, I get an error stating that I do not have the correct user permissions even though I purchased the plug-in. I asked for my money back. The author asked for my FTP log-in info which I gave him, but I don’t really feel comfortable giving that to a stranger. He also told me that he can’t give me a refund per the policy unless “any feature described is missing or I am unable to provide you support or make it work”.

I shouldn’t have to wait for the plug-in to work to get a refund. There are a lot of intricacies involved in setting this plug-in up and I would’ve preferred something more simple. The refund policy should say you get a refund if the plug-in takes too long to set up because I’m tired of wasting time with Alphabetic Pagination. Sigh. Lesson learned.

(I loved the idea of this plug-in, but then I realized that I’m probably better off using a catalog catalog of sorts because I have different genres of movies. The alphabetization might be helpful, but I prefer the catalog and sub-catalog method. )

  • It seems you purchased plugin without thinking, it happens sometime that when we purchase something and don’t know exactly our requirements we feel that our money is wasted. Better to use free versions first then decide if you need to buy it’s premium or not.

    Dear Annie,

Your are my valued client. I have just checked the issue, the problem was related to your user’s role. Its really important thing from WordPress security perspective. Have a look here https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Roles_and_Capabilities#Capabilities. It says that if logged in user has proper permissions to access the page so let him proceed else stop. Your admin user was not having required permissions, i have just fixed that. Please try the settings page now.
I liked the review you have written for me. In fact, i personally suggest users to use FREE version with Auto settings instead of buying PRO if not badly required. You can find my comments in support forum where i promote my plugin’s FREE version. I can understand that its not that comfortable to provide FTP login to a stranger, but for support on upwork and even on other platforms you have to provide FTP and wp-admin login credentials for fixes. I hope you will understand.

    Thanks,
    Fahad

    Dear Annie,

I have fixed that copy and paste thing to make a FREE version to PRO. Now PRO version remains PRO even after FREE updates. Should i send you the updated copy?

    Thanks,
    Fahad
