I find the Lightbox to be beautiful on the user’s end and easy for users to navigate.

It’s too bad because if it wasn’t for the 7 Javascript files that are loaded, I would have kept this plugin!

Hi, as combining assets into single files was the recommended practice for such a long time, it’s understandable to think it is still the best practice. However, SLB is built with modern technologies like HTTP/2 in mind, where multiple files are downloaded in parallel, resulting in faster page loads, not slower.

Here are a few resources to get up to speed on these technologies and best-practices:

There is indeed always more work to do, but SLB is built inside and out with performance in mind, from clean efficient code, to loading files in a way that makes the most of modern technologies to help your site load as quickly as possible.

I’ve actually been doing a lot of benchmarking and speed tests for an upcoming update, so I would love to see any benchmarks you have that show SLB to be slow or heavy.

    Thanks.
