sorry i got to be honest on this one.
    is this theme beautiful? Yes
    is this theme useful? Yes
but is it worthy to be the face of wordpress for 2015?
    a big NO
i watch wordpress tv, ive seen interviews of relevant people in the community. are those people excited about this theme hmmm NOPE.

to me a default theme is defacto face of wordpress. its both an output and a statement. at 2015 bannering responsiveness of theme or good typography of is not impressive. weve been doing that for years.

people within the community are passionate in defending wordpress as a CMS and the face of it looks like a BLOG nothing more than that?
did people all of a sudden had an amnesia of what happened in 2013 and 2014?

Every year the new theme serves a different purpose. Last year 2014 was for magazines, this year 2015 is for blogging.

That’s why the old themes from 2012 to 2015 are all distributed with WordPress by default. You can pick the one which serves you best.

I think everybody understands that every year Default themes are released for different porposes. Nobody is questioning that. But how does 2012, 2013 and 2015 look? Aside from the fact that 2012 looks like a bond paper with horizontal lines the keyword is a BLOGGING theme.

People on the grass roots level and up defend wordpress for not JUST being blogging software… Maybe its a lot easier if the next default theme is not a blogging theme and banner the platform as such just like what everybody did in 2014
Because if we do the math in the last 4 years only 1 default theme is not for all intents and purposes a blogging theme. 1 out of 4 ??

Dont get me wrong i fully appreciate the work of the core but im just saying 2015 was just a missed opportunity.

It’s now clear that wp just want to be a blogging tool and nothing more.
