• Hi experts,
    I have a mess to untangle. Long story.
    I had two domains, everything was perfect until I decided to deactivate one of them, both running WordPress installations.
    First domain was my main domain at my host, the one that was expiring. The second domain was an add on domain.
    I asked support to remove the first expiring domain, and replace it with the existing domain, and crate a subdomain on it, and move the blog from the expiring domain there.
    She did it, but it doesn’t work because I forgot about installations and sql databases, and the subdomain keeps on redirecting to the expired domain where it was initially installed.
    I can’t login to the blog on subdomain, it’s redirected, and I have no access to the already expired domain.
    How do I untangle this mess? Help!

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hiya, if you haven’t already got this sorted I would suggest you speak to whoever supports your DNS. This might be a domain registrar or your host.

    When the subdomain was set up you (or someone) probably added a DNS record to forward it to the old domain – something like
    CNAME your-subdomain.toil.blog -> https://your-expired-domain.com
    So delete this record and when you head to your-subdomain.toil.blog it won’t be re-directed.
