• I have an established WordPress installation (that has resided in a subdirectory, but I have moved it in prep for possibly going Multisite – the move is functioning properly) on one domain, which is the primary domain on a virtual server hosted through LiquidWeb (so that’s what sits at the root of public_html directory.

I’m starting a new website which will live on an add-on domain where the document root is pointed to public_html/addeddomain.com/ Nameservers and such are already in place, and visiting addeddomain.com points to that subdomain folder, as does addeddomain.maindomain.com. There IS a wildcard installed on my server as well.

I tried last night to install Multisite using subdomains, but I kept getting errors, namely the Multisite kept trying to point to a wp-admin at addeddomain.maindomain.com/wp-admin/ which, of course, doesn’t exist, kicking a 404.

I’m hoping this is slightly clearer than mud.

I have since found the WordPress MU Domain Mapping Plugin, but I have not tried that. I thought I would reach out first and see if installing multisite on my set-up was even possible.

Guidance would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
