Before intalling on existing website

    Hi,

    I’ve read the documentation, but one important information is still unclear to me. When I install Polylang, does it change the existing permalinks? I have a pt_BR website and I need to add a en_GB option, but I don’t want the existing pages to have the url modified. Is that possible?

    I’m using AVADA theme, that seems to be compatible, right?

    Hi
    You can hide the language information only for the language default (pt_BR). But for the English you will have the language information.

    In this case I need to check the option “Hide URL language information for default language”, correct?

    Another question. Is it necessary to put the website in maintenance mode?

    It’s preferable to do that on a staging site. It will be easier to see if you have some conflicts with other plugins.

    I recommend you to use Polylang 1.7.12 and not the 1.8 with the last Avada version. Some Avada users have just reported a conflict with some options of the language switcher.
