What issue are you facing with the plugin?

1. I can’t install the Rank Math Plugin.

First, let’s show you how to install a plugin on your WordPress website. The easiest way to install it via your WordPress Dashboard.

Note: Please stay advised that the plugin requires at least PHP 5.6, PHP DOM Extension, PHP SimpleXML, PHP GD Extension, php_uname enabled. Which are pretty standard for most of the hosting providers.

Follow the below steps:

1. Open the WordPress Dashboard
2. Head over to Plugins > Add New
3. Search for Rank Math
4. Click on the “Install Now” button.
5. Once the plugin is installed, the “Install Now” button will change into “Activate” button. Press it to Activate the plugin.

Congrats, the plugin is now installed and activated.

If any of the steps mentioned above aren’t running as we mentioned, there could be some reasons:

• Your web host might not have add the correct permissions to the wp-content folder. Get in touch with them to have this issue fixed.
• Your web host might not have the proper setting/packages on your server that allow plugin installation. Try installing any other plugin, if that doesn’t work either – let your web host know about it.
• If you are getting a cURL error 28: Connection timed out error while installing the plugin, that is also due to a server misconfiguration. Please ask your web host to fix the issue.

In case your issue does not fall under any of these scenarios, be sure to check the I am facing an issue with something else section below.

2. I installed the plugin but can’t activate it.

So, you installed the plugin correctly but can’t seem to get to activate it.

There could be some reasons for it.

Please stay advised that the plugin requires at least PHP 5.6, PHP DOM Extension, PHP SimpleXML, PHP GD Extension, php_uname enabled. Which are pretty standard for most of the hosting providers.

If any of these conditions are not met, Rank Math might not activate or even if it does – it won’t work correctly. So, we would request you to get in touch with your web host and ask them to upgrade the PHP or enable those PHP extensions we mentioned.

Coming back to why the plugin won’t activate:

• You must check whether or not your theme or any of your plugins are causing a conflict with the working of Rank Math. To check for a conflict, follow the instructions on this short tutorial.
• Your database might need repairing. Follow this guide and make sure you take a backup before making any changes to your website’s database.
• Disable any other SEO plugin you might have activated on your website.

3. I installed and activated the plugin, but some of the settings aren’t working.

Right after installing and activating Rank Math, you should run the Setup Wizard and choose what options you want to enable or disable on your website. If you missed using the Setup Wizard when activating the plugin, you could summon it by following the instructions here.

When using the Rank Math plugin, if some of the options you see are not working at all – you should check for the JS errors in your browser console. It only sounds complex, just follow the instructions below:

• Using Your Browser to Diagnose JavaScript Errors

Clicking on the filename shown in the Console should give you a clear idea of where the issue is coming from. Once you determine which plugin is causing the issue, deactivate it and then try again. Everything should work. You could also follow this tutorial on how to confirm a plugin conflict.

If you are not able to find some of the options you know, Rank Math has, don’t worry. We have built Rank Math with a module system so you can use what you want and put the rest of the features away for later use.

• Simply head over to WP Admin > Rank Math > Dashboard and enable the modules you want.
• Facing an issue with the Sitemap function? Check this page on common sitemap issues and their fixes.
• Trying the Redirections module but can’t get it to work? Make sure you aren’t using any other plugin that modifies the slugs/permalinks on your WordPress website. If you are, disable that plugin right away to avoid any unintended redirections.

4. I am facing an issue with something else.
