• Hey:

I’m brand new to www.ads-software.com, but really want to learn how to use it and build my own site. I used to build sites using HTML in the past, but that was over 10 years ago. I’ve done no coding since, but I’m told using www.ads-software.com is a great way to get back into it.

I watched a youtube video online to setup my www.ads-software.com account. The video I watched required me to download MAMP and TextWrangler.

I’m setup and going through the guide that is showing me how to upload my theme here – https://www.templatemonster.com/help/quick-start-guide/wordpress-themes/master/index_en.html#introduction

But now I’m stuck at “importing content” from the sample_data folder. Whenever I try and upload the files there are a few file extensions that won’t upload (.json, .xml, and one of the .gif files).

I’ve looked through a whole bunch of forums via google searches, but still can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing wrong or how I can fix this. Do I need to contact go daddy (they are hosting for me) and get them to add these file extensions to my account? I’m so confused. Thanks in advance for any help!!

    Ian

The import process detailed there appears to be specific to this “Cherry Framework.” I recommend reaching out to them for assistance with that: https://www.cherryframework.com/contacts/

You have a lot going on there with things that can be done with WordPress, and I would suggest first just learning about WordPress. The very first thing you should do is some “hardening” to help prevent intrusion and injection causing your host to possibly suspend your account for being a potential compromise or threat on its servers:

note: You do not have to spend any money to do that, and neither do you need to spend money to find quality themes and plugins. Everything you need for a sustainable, productive site can be downloaded from right here at www.ads-software.com. Then, “no dues or fees” also applies to many great tutorials and other resources.
