I needed a page builder so I got Elementor and Elementor Pro. Recently, Elementor created an image optimization plugin. Good for them, but I already have one and am using Cloudflare.

Now they added a notification icon to my gallery page, took over that page with an elementor top banner (as if the gallery belongs to them) and slapped a massive 1/3 height ad which displays “stats” that are not connected to anything and messages everywhere I seem to click about their image optimization plugin.

This should not be allowed since I did not choose to download the image optimizer, and there is no way to turn that off. Elementor is not an image optimization plugin, it is a page builder and that’s all I need from it.

I am getting tired of its interference, and of this image optimizer spam littered all over my WP dashboard.
