• I noticed today when I had to make a change to one of my users that it would not let me save the change. Instead I had to click allow weak password to save it. When I did that, the password was also changed, which locked the user out.

I reset it and gave the user the password. So earlier I had to update the photo for the user and the same thing happened, I could not save without clicking allow weak password, despite password begin the same password that the site generated for me!

This is extremely frustrating that this option is forced on us, without any way to disable it. So anytime I have to change something for a user, I have to also give them a new password….

    That’s really silly.

  • I can understand your frustration, something similar happened with me a couple of days ago.

To play devil’s advocate… security is very important. If a user has a weak password, that is bad, and could mean your site could hacked.

So you are looking a the difference between making you as the admin aware of that, and the slight annoyance, compared to how upset you would be if your site got hacked (all your posts lost, website visitors infected with malware, etc).

Oh trust me, I know a lot about that, I’m a sysadmin for a very large MSP ?? No, my issue is the fact that anytime I change something on the account, it also changes the password. For example, if I add a picture or change it, it will force a password change as well.

    That shouldn’t happen.
