    Hallo!
    Version 1.0.0-rc.1 kommt nun ohne die Problemumgehung aus; Beim Upload (bzw. Regeneratevorgang) werden *.webp von allen Instanzen erstellt.

    Was bei unseren Sites noch nicht funktioniert, ist die automatische Ersetzung der Beitragsbilder. Bilder im Beitrag werden ersetzt, das “Featured Image” nicht.
    Wir verwenden vorwiegend MH Themes und überall den Classic Editor.

    Dieses Plugin wird nicht auf Live Sites getestet, daher habe ich dzt. keinen Link.

    Right now, whether or not the featured image is converted to WebP is dependent on how your theme inserts images into the_content. Any images inserted *outside* of the_content will *not* be replaced by WebP.

    We do have a GitHub issue here: https://github.com/WordPress/performance/issues/155 which could be used as a mechanism to enable the replacement of images outside of the_content.

    Verstehe.

    Aber trotz einiger Erfahrung mit WP sehe ich in https://github.com/WordPress/performance/issues/155 keinen Ansatz, was man nun konkret tun muss?
    Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich kein Englisch kann, aber ich sehe dort nur Diskussionen, keine L?sung …

    @pezi As you can see in the issue and associated doc, the approach in #155 is still being actively discussed, so the implementation is not decided on just yet. Feel free to leave comments there or in the doc linked in that issue with your thoughts on what would work best for your use case. Thank you!
