• Hey there! Just wished to warn all of you about this plugin, that has great marketing and looks fancy and all from the feature list on the demo website and so on. In real life half of it does not work and if you point out to a glitch they will just say – it is not a glitch, it is supposed to work that way.

Btw- the reviews are looking good, because they ask you for a good review and give you sms credits that I will also speek about later. Either these reviews are fake or those pleople do not use the plugin.

    1. Great support mentioned on other reviews – that is NOT TRUE. Support takes to answer from 4 days to week. You cannot get an immediate help if your workflow stops because of this plugin. most of the time they will answer – it is supossed to work that way ot they will send you to feature request section. I have been using this plugin for a while and there are 0 updates for this plugin or none features added.
    2. You are basically a hostage to your own appointments. There is 0 flexibility on bookings – you cannot add a booking if worker has no work time, but you have agreement in real life. At first you will have to make a work hours for emplyee and after that maybe you will be able to add an appointment. I cant stress out how annoying and how much time this takes to manage system.
    3. Dashboard and analytics look fancy and all but please trust me- THEY DO NOT WORK. Even if workload is 100% it will show some 75% or smoething like that, I think they add buffer time to count. Income on analytics is WAY OFF. You have to check each and every appointment that it has been paid, but the checking is like 10 clicks away or else it shows 0 income in statistics. NONE OF IT WORK IN REAL LIFE.
    4. If someone forgets to add a discount code YOU CANNOT add it later on. YOU CANNOT make an appointment free or correct price. Your employees wont be able to see that the appointment is free.
    5. Packages dont work. It is a chaos. Employes cant see how many times are used and when customer has to pay and when he has already paid.

YOU WILL HAVE TO KEEP A SEPARATE PAPPER JOURNAL SO THAT EVERYTHING IS CORRECT AND YOU CAN CALCULATE SALLARIES FOR EMPLOYEES, BECAUSE YOU WONT BE ABLE TO CHANGE OR EDIT ANYTHING IN YOUR BOOKINGS.

    6. SMS (out most important feature for us) 1 sms costs 0.10 cents which is ridiculous BUT there is a catch. If you make too many mystical characters it will take the MONEY FOR TWO SEGMENTS which is 0.20 cents for a customer. When I mentioned them about this and asked if they are going to implement normal sms providers and even gave them examples they just said- sad to see you go but we understand. Btw next day appointment cron does not work on siteground hosting even if you do everything like in the documentation.

    7. You cannot add to a single appointment a custom buffer time, for example if customer adds two services and you dont need buffer time for both of them.

    8. When someone cancels appoitnment that slot cannot be used again. This “feature” has been reported in the begining of the january by other users and it is not fixed for more than a month.

Well I think I have not mentioned it all. Maybe I will update this when I will remember more.

I dedicated time to write about this, because I am so frustrated and I had insanely high hopes for this plugin, but unfortunately I’m sorely disappointed and regret that I rushed to migrate from my previous system to this one. I fell into a marketing trap. Migrating appointments took like 9 hours for me and now I will have to free time again to migrate back to a good booking platform.

I dont know if I can post othe plugins here, but TRUST ME there a way better plugins than this. You can PM me if you need an advice.

    Stay away from this thing.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed review. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and value your input as it helps us improve our services.

While we understand that opinions can change, we must admit that we feel a bit disheartened by the shift in tone, given that this review was a 5-star review at first, titled “Best booking and appointment plugin.” We noticed that in your recent interactions with our support team, you expressed gratitude towards our agents for their assistance. This positive feedback makes the contrast in your review even more surprising.

Nonetheless, let’s delve into the specifics to see if we can address your concerns and potentially change your perspective once more.

Regarding our demo websites, it’s important to note that they are fully interactive, allowing you to experience Amelia’s features in action. They always reflect the current version of Amelia, so you can trust that what you see is exactly what the plugin offers.

Regarding reviews, it’s true that we offer credits for reviews, but it’s not to manipulate feedback. We can incentivize users to review, but we never tell people what to think or say, all opinions are welcome, positive or negative.

With that in mind, it’s important to note that we do not revoke credits provided for reviews, as this is not our practice, so the credits provided to you for the initial 5-star review will remain intact. We pride ourselves on transparency and honesty in our advertising. Everything you see about Amelia is genuine, and we stand by our product with a 15-day money-back guarantee. This ensures customers can experience Amelia’s features risk-free, and if it doesn’t meet their expectations, we offer a refund. We wouldn’t risk a negative review or the loss of income because of false advertising as there’s simply nothing in it for us.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding our support response times. Amelia is utilized by a large user base, with tens of thousands of users relying on the plugin daily. As a result, there may be occasional delays in our support responses due to the high volume of inquiries.

Our dedicated support team handles approximately 150 tickets per day (per agent), and each inquiry is carefully addressed based on its complexity. We strive to provide timely assistance to all our users. However, we also respect our support agents’ personal time, and they do not work during weekends and national holidays.

Regarding your specific experience, out of the approximately 50 responses you received from our support team, we acknowledge that a few may have encountered delays exceeding one day. These instances were primarily due to weekends or recent national holidays. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these delays.

We also noticed that multiple tickets were opened for the same issue, which can lead to redundant efforts on both sides. To streamline the process and ensure efficient resolution, we encourage consolidating related inquiries into a single ticket whenever possible.

We’d like to clarify that there is an option available in Amelia to address the issue you mentioned regarding booking appointments outside of an employee’s working hours.

Within the ‘Settings/Roles/Administrator’ section, there is an option to enable admins to book appointments outside of an employee’s designated work hours. Once this setting is enabled, it allows administrators to bypass the employee’s work hours when making bookings from the backend.

Our back-end section is undergoing a redesign process to enhance user experience. This update will include a new design and improved functionality for calculating occupancy, percentage of load, finance, and more. We acknowledge that the current dashboard may not be optimal, but rest assured, a comprehensive overhaul is underway. Thank you for your patience as we work towards a better Amelia experience.

We acknowledge the limitation regarding adding a coupon code to an existing booking. As an admin, you can add an internal note to indicate the coupon should have been used and mark the payment as paid. While we understand this workaround may not be ideal, we appreciate your understanding.

Regarding packages, they work correctly without a limit on the number of packages used. To track appointments within a package, go to Services/Packages -> Manage Package. Filter by purchase dates to view who purchased the package and expand for details on appointments booked. This feature provides a comprehensive overview of package usage.

It appears there might be some confusion regarding SMS functionality. You can Google “SMS Segment” and see what it is, but that’s how SMS functioned since it was introduced – SMS messages are divided into segments of 160 Latin characters in GSM encoding. Including a single character outside this list (UNICODE encoding) reduces the number of characters per segment. We understand your concern and plan to include Europe-based SMS providers in the future, offering lower prices. Unfortunately, we don’t have an ETA on this. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Cron Jobs are not a feature of Amelia itself; they are scheduled tasks executed by your hosting server. Amelia provides the command to execute the task, but the configuration can vary depending on your hosting provider. We recommend reaching out to Siteground’s support for assistance with the correct command. Siteground is a popular hosting provider so if there was any issue with cron jobs related to Siteground, we would know about it. If you encounter any issues specific to Siteground’s Cron Jobs, they would be best equipped to assist.

Amelia operates based on set logic, so if you define buffer time for a service, it will consistently apply. Currently, there isn’t a way to adjust this, but we will certainly forward your suggestion to our developers for consideration. Alternatively, if you have a customer requiring more time for a single service, you can use the “Custom Duration” option to extend their appointment, such as from 1 hour to 2 hours.

When an appointment is canceled, the corresponding time slot becomes available for others to book. This functionality has been consistent with Amelia’s operation for the past 5+ years and remains unchanged. If you’re experiencing ongoing issues with this process, we recommend reaching out to our support team for further assistance. We were unable to replicate this behavior, suggesting it may not be a bug in the plugin but possibly a conflict with another plugin or theme on your website.

We’ve taken the time to address your concerns because many of your statements appear to be incorrect or based on a misunderstanding while others seem to rest on expectations we’ve never promoted. We hope this response provides clarity and demonstrates that there are effective ways to configure Amelia when we collaborate.

Should you have additional questions, we are more than willing to assist. We kindly ask that you base your responses on factual information rather than emotions stemming from misunderstandings or lack of information.

Thank you for your time and detailed answer but most of it it false.

    1. 15 days is way too short time to test the plugin. And it is not about the money, but time wasted. I would be willing to pay 2000$ or more for a versatile plugin.
    2. That is a false statement about multiple tickets. There is one where I already told at the begining to close it. Support takes WAY TOO MUCH TIME and doucmentation is not detailed enough.
    3. Thank you for clarifying about booking times outside employes work hours. I will test it out. Thank you.
    4. Will check out the package filter feature, but not sure it will help.
    5. Thank you for info about sms, in tickets they told me that it is not that easy and it is not planned to implement normal sms providers. The prices are ridiculous for now.
    6. EVERY other plugin cron jobs are way simpler and created automatically on WordPress backend. Your documentation contains info about sitegrounds cron that does not work.
    7. Sometimes if client books two services there is no point of two buffer times for mainetnance. A check disable buffer time would be great. I did not mean custom duration.
    8. You dont have all information about your glitches. Appointment cancelation glitch is already reported by users on first week january and still there is no fix. Try at any new installation- when appointment is canceled it shows open but when try to book it shows error- slot is not available.

Your product seems fancy but it is still very green. Your team should check out https://www.salonbookingsystem.com/ because they are way ahead of you. I only migrated because of one feature, but now they are making custom work for me personally.

I will set back 4 stars because ofcourse you do not deserve one star only because my expectations are not met. For others this plugin still can be of great value.

I wish you great success on developing this plugin to be the best available on the market!

Thank you very much for taking the time to amend your review and for considering our response and for your kind wishes toward the future development of Amelia.

    1. We acknowledge your point regarding the 15-day period for testing Amelia. While it may not be sufficient to explore every aspect of such a versatile plugin, it does offer ample time to assess its basic functionalities. Additionally, if a customer reaches out expressing the need for more time, we always extend the refund period, typically up to at least 30 days.
    2. We understand your concern regarding multiple tickets and the potential overlap in questions or issues. Upon reviewing all your tickets, we noticed similarities in topics, which may have shifted during the course of the conversation. We apologize for any delays experienced, and we are committed to addressing this by providing additional training for our agents. It’d be greatly appreciated if you could create a ticket focused solely on feedback for improving our documentation.
    3. We are pleased to have assisted you and are genuinely sorry to hear that the necessary information was not effectively conveyed through the tickets. We will certainly take this feedback into account and have a discussion with our agents to ensure clearer communication moving forward.
    4. Please let us know ifit doesn’t help, so we can check out the issue in more detail.
    5. The current provider is US-based and the associated pricing is a financial challenge for other countries. Implementing another provider based on customer location poses technical complexities, which may explain the lack of specific details from our support team on when and how this will be implemented. Rest assured, we are actively exploring options to onboard new providers with more competitive pricing.
    6. The additional cron commands included in our documentation were contributed by customers utilizing various hosting providers. While we are unable to test every hosting provider individually due to resource constraints, we appreciate your feedback on this matter. We will bring this to the attention of our developers for potential improvements in the future.
    7. Your input on the features and suggestions for improvements has been duly noted. We will forward these suggestions to our development team for their consideration in future updates.
    8. We sincerely apologize for the oversight regarding the booking of canceled appointments. Our developers have since identified and resolved this issue, as indicated in our recent change log. We encourage you to explore these updates and provide feedback on whether the issue has been fully resolved on your end.

We value all feedback and reviews from our customers, as they play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to enhance Amelia. Should you choose to continue using Amelia, we are confident you will notice the improvements we have planned in the coming months.

Once again, thank you for your detailed feedback and review.

Well changed my mind again. Deffinetly one star. This is the worst plugin I have ever worked with. Its sad that I cannot delete this review. I will waste my time register a new account and and write a more detailed review about ALL of the crytical glitches I have found. People DO NOT USE THIS THING.
