• This plugin is easy to setup, highly configurable, and probably the best one out there if you want to keep the native WordPress comments.

However, after hours of work and testing, I can’t get it to post a comment to my site in under 5 seconds. It’s terribly slow using Ajax (a feature I wanted), even the one native to the plugin.

That being said, I don’t fault the developer for that. WordPress is terrible with Ajax in general. I have also seen some sites using wpDiscuz without the slowness I experience, so roll the dice and give it a shot.

    Hi @godthor,
Thank you for your review. In 99% cases WordPress AJAX works just fine and it’s fast. However wpDiscuz has a custom AJAX system for making it even faster. Please disable the “Use WordPress native AJAX functions” option in Dashboard > Comments > Settings > General Tab to automatically enable the custom AJAX processor. Then delete all caches and test it again.

I had tried that, among disabling caching, my firewall, and various other plugins. Something just isn’t playing nice and I got tired of trying to figure it out.

Also, this was on 4 of my sites where I installed it, so different themes, different plugins, etc. All were experiencing this slow Ajax posting issue.

I’ll try it again in a few months; maybe something will have changed.
