best directory listing plugin

  • I am helping a non-profit put together a WP website and one of the needed items is separate directory listings for each their member types (industry [no categories] and vendors [multiple categories and sub-categories]) and their association directors which will display photo, name and bio. One of the requests is that they can sell “featured listings” to their members using Paypal as the gateway.

    I have searched for the right plugin but keep coming across the same plugins – which unless I am just missing it – don’t provide the features that I need. Some have Paypal integration but take over the entire wordpress site and/or utilize separate themes. A couple just list without a way to sell featured listings. A couple of them don’t even do photos or logos, etc..

    I’ve searched the plugin depository and google with no luck so far, and am just hoping that someone here might be familiar with a plugin in which I could achieve the needs here.

    P.S. The members will need to be able to edit their own personal entry through their member login.

  • I built a directory site selling listings at one point and used a combo of a few different plugins to sell different durations of listings (1 mo, 3 mo, 6 mo, 1 yr) via pages and have those listings (posts) auto-expire and get kicked back to draft status at the end of the time period.
